If you are OK fighting with radios and modifying software you can save yourself $700 and get a Blade, or save even more depending on your use case. Anyone who publishes research in the RF space, does pentesting, or is in another way serious about SDR forks out for a b210 or one of their bigger radios. The only place to get support for the radios themselves is their forum and I’ve never seen a Lime employee in that forum.Įttus is a large company that fully supports their radios and drivers and every piece of SDR software I’ve used either supports it directly as a first class platform using USRP or supports them through Soapy, which also treats it as a primary stakeholder platform. The soapy integration is good and fully supports the radios, so, this is mostly fine. Almost no one has direct support for their library. Lime is supported by Soapy in every piece of SDR software I’ve worked with that supports them at all. I often find myself making modifications to support my bladerf 2.0. But the software out there usually has at least basic support for BladeRF and Soapy has decent support for them. They were just not saying anything for quite a while.
